What The Golden Age Standard Means

In a world of rare and historically significant timepieces, authenticity alone is not enough.

Every piece presented by Golden Age is carefully reviewed for authenticity, originality, condition, historical context, provenance, and collectability before it becomes part of our collection.

The Golden Age Standard is more than a certificate. It reflects our commitment to accurate representation, careful selection, and the level of trust serious collectors expect when acquiring an exceptional piece.

The Golden Age Standard (GA Certified)

Every piece considered for Golden Age goes through a focused review of authenticity, originality, history, condition, and collectability.

The Process

Six Stages. Zero Compromise.

  1. 01

    Source Review

We review the source, known background, and available ownership context of the piece.

  2. 02

    Identity Verification

Brand, reference, serial numbers, dial, movement, case, engravings, logos, and key identifying details are carefully examined.

  3. 03

    Historical Verification

For royal, presidential, military, protocol, or special-issue pieces, we review the relevant period, insignia, occasion, and historical context whenever reliable information is available.

  4. 04

    Originality & Condition

We assess originality, overall condition, polishing, replaced parts, restoration, and any important observations affecting the piece.

  5. 05

    Rarity & Collectability

We consider rarity, historical importance, market presence, condition, provenance, and overall significance before approval.

  6. 06

    Final Approval & Certification

Only pieces that meet the Golden Age Standard are approved.

When original papers are unavailable, eligible pieces may receive a Golden Age Certificate of Authenticity, documenting the identity, characteristics, condition, and our independent authenticity assessment.

The certificate does not replace original manufacturer documentation.

Not Every Authentic Watch Meets The Golden Age Standard.
