Favre-Leuba Genève – Saddam Hussein Special Edition, 1980

An exceptionally distinctive Favre-Leuba Genève Special Edition dating to 1980, produced within the series of official presentation watches associated with the era of President Saddam Hussein. The watch features a 37mm stainless-steel case and a striking golden-yellow dial bearing a prominent portrait of Saddam Hussein alongside his name in Arabic. The naturally aged dial and visible patina preserve the watch’s original vintage character and give each detail a strong sense of period authenticity. Powered by a traditional Swiss manual-winding mechanical movement, the watch is currently fitted with a replacement leather strap. Its unusual portrait dial, historical association, and unmistakable 1980s design make it a highly distinctive collectible among Iraqi presentation watches of the period.
