Longines Automatic 1980 Special Edition President Saddam Hussein

Preserved in remarkably unused condition, this rare Longines Automatic represents one of the distinctive Iraqi presentation pieces associated with the era of President Saddam Hussein. Designed as a men’s dress watch, it features an unusual geometric 34mm gold-plated case surrounding a monochromatic gold dial. Rather than relying on elaborate decoration, the dial is defined by its clean layout and the portrait of Saddam Hussein positioned at 12 o’clock, with a framed date window at 3 o’clock and the classic Longines signature below. At its heart is a Swiss automatic mechanical movement, making the piece especially desirable among collectors of Iraqi presentation watches, where many surviving examples from the period were quartz-powered. The watch is completed by a dark leather strap, while its zero / stored condition further enhances its collectibility.
